The Population of Greek Cypriots in Greece is estimated to be
around 60,000 mainly situated in the capital of Athens and the
Cities of Thessaloniki and Pireaus.
The short distance and the understanding of the language was the
founding reason they immigrated there. The first known Greek
Cypriots were from Petulas and they came and settled in Peloponissos
where they also built a church.
The Greek Cypriots here are professionals for example, doctors,
accountants and lawyers they are involved in the shipping industry
and lecturers both in schools and Universities. There are also a lot of
students and actors, actresses and musicians who have gone to
Greece to progress their careers. There are Cypriot community
Centres, Schools and Cypriot themed events to help keep our identity.
